What we know so far:
- Displacement: ~249cc single-cylinder, air-cooled or mildly tuned engine.
- Power & Torque: Around 18-20 PS & ~18-22 Nm torque.
- Mileage: Expected ~40-45 kmpl in mixed riding (city + highway). Some sources are slightly conservative, saying 35-40 kmpl under heavier use
- Features:
• Retro/classic styling (round headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, chrome elements
• ABS, LED lighting (headlamp/indicators) possibly tubeless tyres in select variants.
• Instrument cluster: analog + digital/partially digital setup; USB charging and basic riding-comfort features expected.
Expected Price & Launch Timeline:
- Price: Between ₹1.35-₹1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) is being speculated. If features, mileage and build are right, this makes it a strong value option.
- Launch: Possibly mid to late 2025, with bookings to follow announcement.
Is It Really “Cheap” / Value?
- If priced around ₹1.4-1.8 lakh and delivering ~40-45 kmpl, this would undercut a number of 250cc rivals and make entry into Royal Enfield’s classic/cruiser brand more accessible.
- But “cheap” in RE terms still means a premium over many 125-150cc bikes. Maintenance, fuel, insurance, and overall ownership cost will still matter.
