Epic Games is finally bringing Proximity Chat to Fortnite, starting with a brand-new Limited-Time Mode called Delulu. Players have been requesting this feature for years, and now it’s arriving with a twist that blends strategy, teamwork, and betrayal.
🗓 Release Date
- September 19, 2025 – Proximity Chat goes live in the Delulu LTM.
- September 18, 2025 – Early access for creators with a code.
- Available only on weekends: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
🎮 What is Delulu Mode?
Delulu is an 80-player Zero Build mode designed around proximity voice chat. It changes how players interact:
- No building, pure survival and strategy
- Voice chat works based on distance — nearby players can hear you
- Both allies and enemies can talk depending on settings
- Players can form temporary alliances, but betrayal is always possible
🔊 Gameplay Details
- Voice chat setting must be switched to “Everyone” to enable proximity chat
- Matches are more social and unpredictable
- Alliances and betrayals add a unique dynamic never seen before in Fortnite
- Currently, proximity chat is exclusive to Delulu — no word yet on its arrival in standard Battle Royale
✨ Final Thoughts
With Proximity Chat and the Delulu mode, Fortnite adds a whole new social dimension to gameplay. Expect fun, chaos, and plenty of unexpected alliances when the feature launches this weekend.
