Yamaha is all set to expand its popular XSR lineup in India with the launch of the Yamaha XSR 155 in 2025. The motorcycle brings together retro-inspired design with Yamaha’s proven modern performance technology, making it a highly anticipated entry in the premium 150cc segment.
1. Retro-Modern Styling
The XSR 155 takes cues from classic café racers with its round LED headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, flat seat, and upright stance. Despite the retro vibe, it is built on Yamaha’s modern Deltabox frame, ensuring stability and sporty handling.
2. 155cc VVA Engine
At its heart is the familiar 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). This motor already powers the R15 and MT-15, producing around 18.4 PS of power and 14.1 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and assist & slipper clutch.
3. Modern Tech & Features
The bike balances old-school looks with new-age features:
- Full-LED lighting setup
- Digital LCD instrument console
- Dual-channel ABS (expected for India)
- Upside-down front forks (international model)
4. Expected Price & Launch
The Yamaha XSR 155 is expected to launch in India at around ₹1.7–1.9 lakh (ex-showroom). A mid-2025 launch is likely, making it a direct competitor to the Honda CB300RS (at a higher segment) and Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (retro rival).
⚡ Why It Matters: With its unique blend of heritage design and modern performance, the Yamaha XSR 155 is set to attract young enthusiasts who want style, tech, and everyday rideability in one neat package.
